Damn Flamin

US$390.00

Designed by Jeremy Son.

Damn Flamin: a candle holder designed to transform the overlooked corner into a quiet fountain of light. Precisely mounted at the junction of two walls, its form extends outward to create a subtle architectural intervention, fostering an atmospheric play of perception, far beyond a domestic setting’s typical decorative object. The candle itself is concealed from view, positioned behind the two intersecting aluminum planes to give the impression of an immaterial flame suspended in space.

This concealment is essential to the piece’s effect—obscuring the candle draws attention from object to experience, from the thing itself to embodied presence. The diffused ambient light activates the surrounding area with an alluring radiance, responding to subtle changes in the movement of air or a passerby. The burning flame marks time elementally, intersecting temporality with space and material. The softly flickering candle illuminates the night, infusing its domestic environs with meditative warmth and primordial mystery.

Damn Flamin is intended to be produced in parts, readily assembled with the most basic of tools.

Detail & care: Please be careful of sharp edges when handling. Handle with clean, dry hands or gloves to prevent oils from tarnishing metal. Using a match is suggested. Candle is NOT included.

— Size (L x W x D): 12” × 1.75” × 10”
— Weight: 425g
— Materials: Stainless Steel

Please allow three weeks for production before the order is shipped.

How does your work evoke a sense of safety, comfort, belonging, or protection within the home?

The corner – where shadows gather and the unknown lingers – is transformed into a quiet cradle of reassurance. A flickering glow emerges: this mounted holder conceals its flame, the candle’s presence indicated only through its soft illumination of the wall that holds it – incandescence suspended in space.

An homage to the luminous work of Dan Flavin, this piece creates an environment of light: the quivering flame of the hidden candle, a primordial measure of time, dances against the wall, a subtle indication of presence and duration. Rooted in the timeless symbolism of life, the sun, and the cosmic order, this holder embraces the wondrous revelation of light, transforming the neglected corner into a sanctuary for the rituals of the everyday.
