Yuqiao Guo
Born in Beijing, China, Yuqiao is a London-based artist and architect. She received her Master of Architecture degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2019, after earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Studio Art and Environmental Analysis from Pomona College in 2015.
Yuqiao was a designer at Handel Architects' Boston office for two years, and has previously worked at Zhaoyang Architects, Atelier DL, and Akihisa Hirata Architects. As an artist, Yuqiao works across a variety of mediums including oil painting, drawing, woodworking, and installation.

DETAIL AND CARE
Hand-made with skin safe silicone, cotton thread, and sterling silver. Silicone is lightly coated with talc to prevent dust collection. For maintenance, rinse the earplugs with water and recoat with talc.

Yuqiao’s painting practice is rooted in her fascination with the narrative capacities of our own bodies. Seen through the lens of self-portrait, Yuqiao's figures occupy and dissolve into spaces in manners both surreal and intimate. Devoid of overt emotions or direct engagement with the viewer, the figures remain ever-ephemeral and become metaphorical of one's own presence inside their personal space.
