Aimilios Davlantis Lo

Born and raised in Greece, Aimilios grew up as the son of two practising architects. He is a licensed architect himself, and his practice centres on the convergence of mechanical engineering and art.

Aimilios graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Cooper Union, NY in 2017 and a Master of Architecture II from Harvard's Graduate School of Design, MA in 2019. He is the recipient of the James Templeton Kelley Prize for the best final design thesis project, Rain Bridge.

Since 2015 Aimilios has been developing and building prototypes, inventions, and specially designed tools in his personal machine shop. He has worked on various projects, from making architectural models for MoMa's 2018 exhibit "Towards Concrete Utopia", to calibrating equipment used to mass-produce swabs for COVID-19 tests.

Architect's Chamfer Plane

Pocket-sized chamfer plane just 60mm long made from 360 brass and high-speed steel. The blade is adjustable and removable for honing. At the top, there is a small hole that allows stringy chips to escape. A tool made for the detail-oriented who want to soften edges without rounding them over. The first Chamfer Plane was created in 2015.
